Notes by destination
- United States: In-person interview at the U.S. Embassy in Manila; check the embassy site for current appointment wait times. ESTA does NOT apply to Philippine passports.
- United Kingdom: The Philippines is on the UK visitor visa national list. Biometrics are taken at a visa application centre; allow several weeks.
- Schengen Area (Spain / France / Italy): The Philippines is in Annex I of Regulation (EU) 2018/1806 (visa required). Visa service centres may add their own fee. Apply at the consulate of your main destination country. Use our Schengen 90/180 calculator on /tools/.
- Japan: Since 7 April 2025 applications go through the Japan Visa Application Centre (VFS Services). Tourist visas can take several weeks; a single-entry tourist visa must be used within 3 months of issue.
- Saudi Arabia (OFW employment): OEC (Overseas Employment Certificate) required at NAIA departure. Visa stamped in passport before deployment.
- Saudi Arabia (Umrah): Check the Umrah visa route on Nusuk or with the Saudi embassy before booking (tourist eVisa eligibility list: https://visa.visitsaudi.com/, checked 2026-10-23). Hajj is a separate process with its own visa.
- United Arab Emirates: Visa-on-arrival rule announced by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 25 June 2026. Without such a residence permit, arrange a UAE visa before you fly; OFWs travel on an employment visa.
- Hong Kong: Visa-required for OFW employment (foreign domestic helper, etc.) — separate process via local agency.
- Singapore: Submit the SG Arrival Card before arrival; it is not a visa.
- Taiwan: Bring proof of accommodation, your host's contact details and proof of funds. Crew members reporting for duty are not covered.
- Australia: Biometrics at VFS Global Manila. Allow 3–6 weeks processing.
- Canada: Biometrics at VFS Global Manila. Multi-entry valid up to 10 years.
